Oh Plasticman, we hardly knew ye..
Well here it is, another exciting night in "I'm too young to be middle-aged" suburbia. The thing is, I am really an adult delinquent. Let's face it, when you're 42 and still get excited over McDonald's coming out with a Batman: The Brave and the Bold "Happy Meal", you've got issues. They really are cool, you know.... Look, I am the father of a 7 year old girl, one can withstand only so much "Littlest Pet Shop" toys, with their over-sized shmoopie eyes beset on proportionately incorrect bobble heads. I am hoping to score a "PlasticMan" on our next Happy Meal purchase, complete with 80's nuevo sunglasses, sarcastic expression on bleach white teeth, and impossibly humongous fist at the end of an elastically elongated arm. Oh PlasticMan, revamped brainchild of burnt out writers at the senior end of their acid trips, I salute you and your bumbling sidekick "Hula-Hula". I am of course referencing the PlasticMan of the 1979 spin-off series The Plastic Man Comedy/Adventure Show voiced by Michael Bell. This is indeed the version of PlasticMan I am seeing in the Mc Donald's Happy Meal line up. And to be honest with you, I wouldn't have it any other way. I think they should bring back all the less-cool superheroes and put them in Happy Meals. I think I see an opening for the not-so-famous "MachineMan" lurking in the horizon.
